Birds fly! Basic Fact!
This gives them an incredible perspective on the world, a detachment from the everyday, a global overview. An all knowing, in tune to the higher worlds and even closer to the heavens, with the ability to dive down into the underworlds. As above so below. They mysteriously disappear and reappear through the mystery of migration.
When studying bird mythology one of the fundamentals that comes through is their significance to the other worlds. This could be because they appear to be able to touch the heavens. They also come through very strongly as messengers if we choose to listen. The most significant of these is when a bird appears at the time of passing over of a loved one. They seem to appear in various forms and I do get commissioned to paint these messengers. Very special.
