It was all

an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Then some charcoal and pastels emersed on canvas. This all started 15 years ago after Sobrane got unmarried. The only thing that made sense at the time was arting. A brief residency in China began Sobrane’s dive into the world of spray paints and large scale murals. Galleries told her her works were to large and wouldn’t sell so she set up one of Broome’s largest galleries and extraordinarily successful sales of her art, shipping 90% out across the Earth. After 9 years of running her beautiful uniquely unique gallery in Broome, many international exhibitions and two small business awards she moved the gallery south to Mount Barker. Sobrane now resides in Mount Barker in a gorgeous 100 year old, heritage listed bank on the main street. It houses her gallery and accommodation for people to stay and enjoy all that Mt Barker offers. It offers you a window into the colourful vibrational world that Sobrane exists in and is one of the very few Street Art Galleries in Australia. She is breaking down the narrative that artists, women and sole trading arts businesses cannot succeed. Business is just as creative as the art.

Sobrane looks forward to welcoming you to beautiful Mount Barker soon.
